Makalu trekking is the fifth Highest Mountain in the world and which lies just to the southeast of Mt Everest, but the area is accessed from the eastern Arun Valley. This trek offers an exceptional opportunity to explore high altitude terrains, snow cloud landscapes, and ethic Himalayan lifestyle. Makalu trekking offers fabulous views of rocky Himalayan peaks, including Mt Makalu(8,463m), Mt chamlang (7319m) Mt baruntse (7129m) and many more. This trek passes through the Makalu- Barun National park that established in 1992, an important conservation area of many bird species, of which some are on the verge of becoming extinct. This trek offers Natural scenery and the main focal point of trekking the Makalu is the Makalu Barun National Park and Conservation area, which is a home to varieties of wildlife. Makalu trekking offers a remarkable and diverse habitat for a rich variety of floras and faunas and rich in natural resources including its beautiful mountains, pristine forest, animal life and the simple and warm-hearted people local folks with their rich and varied traditions. Makalu trek crossing our ship ton la pass (4210m) the trek goes into the upper Barun river valley for a closer view of Makalu and Chamlang Himal.

We began our 21 day trip in Kathmandu with a visit to UNESCO World Heritage sites before heading to the most trekking trip to the Makalu base camp.

Day 1    Arrival in Kathmandu (13,45m) at the Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA)

Arrival in Kathmandu (13,45m) at the Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA) pick up by our office representative and transfer you to your hotel, evening brief you about your trip, Overnight at a hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 2    Sightseen in Kathmandu valley UNESCO world heritage site

Today we are going to sightseeing world heritage sites of Pashupatinath Temple.the holiest Hindu Temple on the bank of sacred Bagmati River, Boudhanath Stupa-the biggest Buddhist Stupa architecture in the world. Patan Durbar Square is the oldest city in the Kathmandu valley with age old tradition also called Lalitpur.the city of fine arts. The visit covers the Durbar Square, the Krishna temple, the Kumbheswore temple, the Golden temple and many more. Swayambhunath Stupa-the 2000 years old legendary stupa on the hillock also nicks named as monkey temple. Prepration for trek.

Day 3    Fly Kathmandu to Tumlingtar then drive to chichira (1980m)

We fly to tumlingtar(50min) and drive to chichjira 3 to 4 hours it is a small gurung settlement. We take to rest and prepared for next day’s trek. Overnight at chichirer.

Day 4    Chichira to Num (1560m)

Today is our 2nd day we are star trek morning on the way we wake through the beautiful Villages and lush mountain forest we will stay at Num village.6 to 7 hour walking.

Day 5    Num to Seduwa (1500m)

Today, we wake descent forest and terraced farms to rich barun river.we cross the river and wake to ascent hill we will get the Barun Nationala Park where we register our permits and we walk more and stay top of hill. 6 to 7 hour walk.

Day 6    Seduwa to Tashigaon (2100m)

Today is our 4th day for trakking through by west ipsuwa khola on the west kasuwa khola Crossing the hillside and walk to villages and passing by small paddy fields. We will be reach the exotic village of Tashi is one of the best place for View. Stay at Tashigaon.4 to 5 hour walking.

Day 7    Tashigaon to Khongma Danda (3500m)

Today is hard day for walking on steep trail in higher elevation. We will cross throught by ascent forest, stream passes a kharka (grazing land) and we will walk to rough stone stairs and small lakes. There is one short way down to khongma danda. 6 to 7 hour walking

Day 8    Acclimatization/ Rest

The day off. Rest day .if we like to walk we can around of this area .we have to stock energy for tomorrow. We will cross the Shipton la over night at khongma danda.

Day 9    Khongma Danda to Dobate

Today we are going to pass shipton La (pass) it takes few hours to reach. After the lake kalo Pokhari(3930m), pass over the Keke la at (4170m). We can see magnificent view of Chamlang(7321m), Peak 6(6524m) and peak7(6758m) after crossing the pass we walk descend trail beautiful valley to Dobata. Overnight at Dobatae. 6 to 7 hour walk.

Day 10    Dobat to Yangri Kharka (3557m)

We will pass throught the rhododendendron forest which leads to the barun River. We walk first 2 hour is carefully the trail is steep and arduous. Slowly walk we will be Yangri kharka it is a base of valley. Overnight at Yangri Kharka. 6 to 7 Hours walk.

Day 11    Yangri Kharka to Langmale kharka(4410m)

Today we are following moderate walk to the valley .On the way we cross yak pastures, lush forests and boulder fields. Scenic view of Mountains overnight in Langmale Kharka.wake 5 to 6 hours .

Day 12    Langmale kahrka to Makalu Base camp(4870m)

Today our trail is flat with icy glaciers and snow clad mountains. Before Makalu base camp from shershong we will see panorama view surrounding Makalu base camp. Overnight at Makalu base camp.6 to 7 hours walk.

Day 13    Explore Makalu Base camp

The base camp is rocky barren place with large Barun glacier. From here We can see maginificent south face of Makalu and Everest and Lhotse. We will exploring around lake, glaciers and short trek..we will celebrate our achievement. Overnight at Makalu base camp.

Day 14    Makalu base camp to Yangri kharka

We wake town desend trile from Makalu base camp. We pass through shershong langmale kharka merek and desend down the valley to yangri Kharka. Overnight at yangri kharka 6 to 7 hours walk.

Day 15    Yangri kharka to Dobate

Our trial is descending through rock falls. We pass from green forests and valley.we follows the river banks of barun. Overnight at dobatae.6 to7 hours.

Day 16    Dobate to Khongma Danda

Day 17    Khongma Danda to Tashigaon

Day 18    Tashigaon to Seduwa

Day 19    Seduwa to Num

Day 20    Num to Tumlingtar

Day 21    Tumlingtar to Kathmandu

Day 22    Final Depature

1 Meals and drinking in Trek

The meals are included in our package which is taken in lodges. We will get breakfast and dinner at the lodge where we stay overnights. Our guide will choose and stop for lunch on the available place for every day on a trek. We will request you to bring water and use medicine and drink freely or therefore you can also have options of buying purification water bottled or boiled water in every place as well

Proper medicines and first aid kits are very essential for trekking. You might get physically hurt at high altitudes is easy due to the terrain and change in atmosphere. 3 Trekking Seasons in Nepal

The trekking season in Nepal is generally known best as two seasons after falls and after the winter. Ever best season of trekking in Himalayan consider in the mid of September to mid of December. Each season has its distinct attraction to offers Nepal. Trekking season is classified as below

Summer ( June- August)

June, July, and August months are the main rainy season. It also involves monsoon with heavy rainfall which makes trekking condition unfavorable. During this season, it is times are blessed for the keen botanist as the higher valley and meadows blossom with flower and lush vegetation. Desert park of Nepal like mustang Nar-Phu valley and Dolpo region are the best season to do trekking which is summer trekking a great alternative behind the Himalayan rains shadow area.

5 Physical fitness

Physical fitness is an important part of any outdoor activity. It is probably less of an issue at the start than you might think. Trek is about taking your time settling your own pace and enjoying the experience to its fullest basically they are three components of in Nepal trek preparation:- Aerobic, strength, and mental. Aerobic conditioning is important primarily because you will trek in thinner air, up to 40 percent less than at sea label how as with good aerobic conditioning you will be able to better metabolize whatever oxygen is available to you.

Before your arrival in Nepal, you should plan on doing at least one hours of aerobic 3/4 times per week for 1 month. Jogging, hiking, cycling and walking on alley floor to ridgeline ascents with day back are some of the excellent forms of exercise so long as your strengthening ley muscles and building stamina. speed is not the essence confidence stamina and continuity are.

8 Acute Mountain Sickness

Acute mountain sickness is common at high altitudes and depends on the elevation, the rate of ascent and individual susceptibility. The symptoms tend to be worse at night and include headache, loss of appetite and lethargy, nausea, bread hopelessness, and irritability. An altitude over 3000 meters (9843 Feet) is usually defined as high altitude. Treks are designed to properly acclimatize you to change in high altitude climate and sufficient precautionary measures too are taken to take almost caution. We will also equip our staffs with a cell phone and satellite phones in occurrence of any emergency cases. 9 Flight delays Internal

12 Trekking Day

We will have to walk around 6 to 8 hours per day/ 10 to 12 km per day more or less. We will have our breakfast at the tea house and begin our trekking as in the middle of long trekking we will have our lunch at the tea house and after some time we will start the trekking again. However, will end our night will dinner at tea house take rest to have some fun and remaining trek we will start it again tomorrow after breakfast.
