Itinerary

DAY 1: Arrive in Kathmandu, Nepal
Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), our office representative will pick you up and transfer you to your hotel. In the evening, you will be briefed about your programs, followed by dinner. Overnight stay at a hotel in Kathmandu.

DAY 2: Kathmandu to Namobuddha
After breakfast, drive to Namobuddha, a prominent Buddhist pilgrimage site located 45 kilometers southeast of Kathmandu at an elevation of 1,750 meters. Namobuddha offers a tranquil escape with fresh, pollution-free air and is renowned for its serene atmosphere. Enjoy lunch at Namobuddha and, in the afternoon, visit the Speech Tara and the Symbol Stupa at Boudhanath on your way back to the hotel. Have dinner and rest for the night at a hotel in Kathmandu.

DAY 3: Kathmandu to Pharping (Guru Rinpoche Cave, Vajrayogini Temple) and Back to Kathmandu
After breakfast, drive to Pharping (22 km - 1 hour). Visit Guru Rinpoche Cave, Pharping Vajravarahi Temple, and Yangleshö. Enjoy lunch in Pharping, then continue exploring and paying respects. Return to Kathmandu in the evening for dinner and an overnight stay at the hotel.

DAY 4: Kathmandu to Bhaktapur (16 km)
After breakfast, drive to Bhaktapur, known for its medieval architecture and culture. Explore Bhaktapur's attractions, including Bhaktapur Durbar Square, Nyatapola Temple, 55-Window Palace, and Pottery Square. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant in Bhaktapur. Return to your hotel in Kathmandu, with free time for shopping Dharma items in Thamel. Have dinner and stay overnight at the hotel.

DAY 5: Kathmandu to Maratika (232 km – 7 hours’ drive)
Maratika is a revered pilgrimage destination cherished by both Buddhists and Hindus. Nestled within the Khotang district of Nepal, approximately 232 kilometers from Kathmandu, lies the sacred Maratika Cave. This site is where Guru Rinpoche and Princess Mandarava encountered Amitayus, the Lord of Infinite Life, during their retreat. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant on the way. Upon arrival at Maratika, immerse yourself in the spiritual aura of this sacred site. Have dinner and stay overnight at a hotel in Maratika.

DAY 6: Maratika
After breakfast, engage in waking meditation at the meditation center. Enjoy lunch and spend the afternoon exploring the area. Return to the hotel for dinner and stay overnight at a hotel in Maratika.

DAY 7: Maratika – Back to Kathmandu (232 km – 7 hours’ drive)
Enjoy breakfast, then proceed to check out from the hotel. The coach will pick up the group and transport them back to Kathmandu. Stop for lunch at a local restaurant along the way. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, enjoy dinner and check into the hotel. Overnight stay at a hotel in Kathmandu.

DAY 8: Free Day for Relaxation and Exploration in Kathmandu
Enjoy an extra day of leisure and exploration in Kathmandu. Have breakfast and take advantage of the free day to relax or explore the city, including sightseeing at Kathmandu Durbar Square and Narayanhiti Palace. Have dinner and stay overnight at a hotel in Kathmandu.

DAY 9: Kathmandu – Sankhu – Milarepa – Back to Kathmandu
After breakfast, drive to Sankhu (17 km – 30 minutes drive). Sankhu is a small village in the east of the Kathmandu Valley, a sacred site of Buddhism associated with Vajrayogini and an important Hindu shrine. Visit Milarepa Cave and enjoy lunch. Continue sightseeing and practice. In the afternoon, return to Kathmandu with visits to the Mahabouddha Temple, also known as the Temple of the Thousand Buddhas, believed to have been originally built in 1585. Have dinner and stay overnight at a hotel in Kathmandu.

DAY 10: Kathmandu to Nagarjung (Jamacho Gumba)
After breakfast, drive to Nagarjung Jamacho Gumba (10 km – 30 minutes drive). Jamacho Gumba lies on the western side of Kathmandu. The name Nagarjun is derived from the meditator Nagarjuna. The area is known for peace and tranquility, with attractions including the Buddha Stupa, ancient caves, and Jamacho viewpoint (2,128 m), offering views of Jugal Himal, Ganesh Himal, and Langtang. The Summer Royal Palace of the former Royal family is also a notable site. Enjoy lunch and return to the hotel for dinner. Overnight stay at a hotel in Kathmandu.

DAY 11: Final Departure
Your wonderful Buddhist adventure in Nepal comes to an end today. A representative from Aarohi Holiday Pvt Ltd will take you to the airport approximately 3 hours before your scheduled flight.
