Pick Up and Drop from Your Place
We will pick you up early in the morning to start the tour with a tour guide.
Day 1: Drive to Kerung (2,900m)
Early morning drive to Kerung, which is 175 km away. We will provide you with a packed breakfast on the way and lunch at the Nepal/China border. After a 10-minute walk to cross the bridge and completing all immigration and customs formalities, you will meet the Chinese guide and bus drivers, and then proceed on the journey to Kerung. Arrive in Kerung and stay overnight in a hotel.
Day 2: Rest Day at Kerung (2,900m)
This day is set aside for acclimatization.
Day 3: Saga (4,450m) or Dongba: (Labug-La 5050m, Peku-tso and Saga, 245 km)
On the first long driving day over the sandy and rocky land of Tibet, you will see lakes, nomads chasing thousands of yaks and sheep, and more. By the late afternoon, you will cross the Brahmaputra River on the way to the typical Chinese and Tibetan town of Saga. Overnight in Saga.
Day 4: Manasarovar (4,558m), 500 km
The longest driving day begins with full excitement. Jeeps and trucks roll on the wide valley following rivers and grazing land of yaks and sheep. Far to the south, you can see snow-covered peaks, while rocky peaks and sand dunes surround you. Depending on the season, you may encounter nomads and mobile shopkeepers in beautiful traditional costumes, offering hot tea and other supplies. By the late afternoon, you will have your first sight of the Holy Kailash Parbat and Manasarovar. Arrive at Hore, a small village near Lake Manasarovar. The Holy Manasarovar is the highest freshwater lake in the world at 14,950 ft (4,558m) with a turquoise complexion, surrounded by Holy Kailash Parbat, Mt. Gurula-Mandata, and Lake Rashekshi. Night halt beside Manasarovar.
Day 5: Puja and Drive to Tarchen (14,975ft)
Manasarovar is a lake of compassion, tranquility, and bliss. After completing the memorable morning bath and Puja, we will head towards Tarchen, which is considered the base camp for the Holy Kailash Parikrama.
Day 6: Trek to DeharaPuk (5,000m)
This is one of the most exciting days, walking along beautiful rocky cliffs and waterfalls under a clear blue sky, with the majestic face of Kailash Parbat appearing time to time. The 18 km trail takes almost 7 hours to complete. Overnight stay at DeharaPuk.
Day 7: The Hardest but Holiest Day of Your Pilgrimage Yatra with Dolma-La (Pass) at 18,600ft
This day is filled with spiritual significance. You will cross Yamasthal to reach the Shiva-sthal, where there is a symbolic death. Pilgrims leave old clothes, a spin of hair, or a drop of blood in the hope that Yamraja (the master of death) will see these signs and allow the travelers to be reborn in spirit to pass Dolma-La. The pass is associated with the goddess Tara for Buddhists and Parvati, the divine wife of Lord Shiva, for Hindus. On reaching the top, pilgrims perform the holiest offerings and meditate. As you descend, you will pass Parvati-sthal and Gauri Kunda. By the late afternoon, you will arrive at ZuthalPuk (the cave of Miracles), where the great ascetic Milerappa is believed to have performed miracles. Overnight stay at ZuthalPuk.
Day 8: End of Kailash Parikrama and Drive to Dongba
After a short trek (2 hrs), you will reach the point where the coach will be waiting. We will then drive to Darchen, merge with the other group members, and drive to Dongba. Overnight stay at a guesthouse in Dongba.
Day 9: Back Journey, Drive to Kerung City (270 km / 5.5 hrs)
Overnight stay at a guesthouse in Kerung.
Day 10: Drive Back to Kathmandu (175 km)
Drive back to Kathmandu.
