Outfitter Nepal have designed 15day itinerary for the Renjo La pass trek with your arrival and departure days plus a day tour in Kathmandu, the trek starts an exciting tour of the Valley offering a glimpse of its World Heritage Sites and busy marketplaces then we enjoy a brief morning flight to the starting point of our trek, Lukla, a Sherpa village in a mountain setting. The trek follows a steep river valley to Namche Bazaar; the gateway of the Khumbu Region, after taking a day of rest in Namche, The journey to the Gokyo Valley follows north up to the DudhKosi valley, we reach the serene Gokyo lakes.
The Gokyo peak (5480m) ascent is one of the tourist attractions of this circuit. We automatically hold up & rest for some time to enjoy the unbelievable sceneries including magnificent views of Everest (8848m), Makalu, Cho Oyu (8153m) and Lhotse (8511m), to name a few, The Renjo la Pass trek route runs off the usual beaten track. Arrive at Kathmandu airport (1345meters) and you will be met by our airport representative and transferred to hotel, evening free and overnight at hotel in Kathmandu.
After having breakfast hotel, we take you for the sightseeing tour in Kathmandu Valley and your tour include tour of Kathmandu Durbar Square, Monkey Temple, Pashupatinath Temple and Bauddhanath Stupa and will return to hotel and will have some free time to shop your trekking gear if you need.
You will have early breakfast at hotel and drive to Kathmandu airport for the 35 minutes scenic flight to the small mountain airport at Lukla, after reaching, our guide will introduce with the porters, then start trekking following mountainside on the left bank of the Dudh Koshi river, it is easy trekking and takes about four hour to reach at Phakding, check in to the lodge.
After having breakfast at lodge, we start our trek and continue trekking following the Dudh Koshi River and crossing it many times, we enter to the park in Jorsale where we will stop for lunch and again we continue the trekking, after few hours walking Namche Bazar will appears ahead as we travel along the path surrounded by pine forest, pass the plateau where the Saturday bazaar is held and enter the village, check into the lodge and overnight at Lodge
The Namche Bazaar is tucked away between two ridges amidst the giant peaks of the Khumbu and has an abundance of lodges, tea shops and souvenir shops as well as a magnificent outlook and It is best place to spend a rest day for acclimatization to the high altitude before heading off towards Renjo La pass Trek and for the acclimatization, we can walk up to Khhumjung village through Everest view hotel in Syangbuche from where we will be able to see the beautiful view of the Himalayas including Mt. Everest and return to Namche.
After having breakfast at lodge, we continue trekking to Dole by following the same route to Base camp until Sanasa then trail ascends up to Mongla (4000m.) from where, you will see panoramic views of various mountains, you trek steeply descend passing through Phortse Tenga and from there, the trail climbs steeply to Dole, through rhododendron and birch forest festooned with hanging mosses and lichens, check in to the lodge.
After having breakfast at lodge, we start trek and you will climb steadily along the side of the valley, where the small and thorny bushes give way to scrub juniper as the altitude increases, the trail passes many summer settlements, which are used when yaks are taken to these pastures to graze in the summer months, ahead of us are excellent views of Cho Oyu, while back down the valley are the peaks of Kantega and Thamserku.
After having breakfast at lodge, we start trekking and today, we head for the lakes at Gokyo valley, we follow a very scenic path to Pangka and then descend slightly, following one of the melt-water Rivers which flow down the west side of the Ngozumpa Glacier, we climb a steep rocky inclined into the valley by the side of the glacier, passing the first of the holy lakes, we soon arrive at the second lake, crossing the path which heads across the glacier to Cho La (5420m.), the third lake is known as Dudh Pokhari will appear and on its eastern shore is the settlement of Gokyo, walking by the side of the lake, we will arrive at Gokyo.
Gokyo is a trade centre where the Sherpa people run lodges to provide the best services to the trekkers, and situated by the side of Ngozumpa glacier, the biggest glacier of Nepal. Today, we will walk around the lake and will climb the Gokyo Ri peak to have sunrise view and excellent views of the Himalayas including Mt. Everest.
Early morning after breakfast, we will climb Renjo la pass, this is a truly amazing high pass in Everest region and is getting even more popular by the day, after about 3 hours, we gain the Renjo La where a dazzling vista awaits, The Everest itself, Lhotse, Cholatse and Taboche can be seen gleaming in the sunshine, Views from Renjo La are much like that from Gokyo Ri with third Gokyo Lake and Gokyo Village beneath the gray smear of Ngozumpa Glacier. Continuing on from the pass, the trail winds down a stone staircase, the presence of ice on the trail while descending down can make our descent a bit hazardous. Along the way we see Relama Tsho and Renjo Lake. However, we walk down through a narrow valley clogged with giant boulders to Lumde where there is a support Lodge but it can be closed often, we have lunch there and trek down to Thame.
After having breakfast at lodge, we continue our trekking following the flat route and descending to first resting place Thamo after heading towards to Namche bazaar, We climb down after crossing a bridge after which we eventually reach Samde, The place offers breathtaking view, The path steeply descends down to Thamo village which hosts a monastery called Khari Gompa which is a nunnery being home to some nuns and monks, after passing through a check post, we come to the world’s highest hydroelectric power station built with Austrian help.
Today is the last day of your trekking, too. The hike is real cool & easy, except for a few short uphill climbs and then down to the Bhote-Koshi River crossing it three times, the last uphill climb of 45 minutes will bring you to Lukla.
Subject to an all clear weather which could sometimes go haywire in this part of the region, we will take an early morning flight back to Kathmandu. The rest of your time is free to do your own things. You could maybe do some shopping to buy some souvenirs for the loved ones at home.
It's also spare day in case of bad weather in Lukla. You are just free to hang around in your hotel or maybe go out for a walk in thamel, a famous hub for tourists in Asia & throughout the world.
