Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,345m) at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA)
Arrival in Kathmandu (1,345m) at any time. Our office representative will welcome you and transfer you to the hotel. Simply take pleasure and relax in the fun of driving through the unfamiliar roads. A short briefing about the trip will be given after transferring you to the hotel. Enjoy your overnight stay in the hotel.
Day 2: Sightseeing of Kathmandu Valley (1,345m)
Today will be an exhilarating day where you will be introduced to the most pious Hindu and Buddhist religious places listed as UNESCO World Heritage sites. You will explore Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa, Patan Durbar Square, and Swayambhunath Stupa.
Day 3: Fly (40min) to Lukla (2,840m) by Morning Flight, then Commence Trek to Phakding (2,610m)
Enjoy the most scenic 40-minute flight in a twin-otter plane to a small airport at an elevation of 2,840m. We will head towards a three-hour easy walk on the legendary trekking trail through the cultured Sherpa village with its exceptional beauty and the stunning view of the Dudh Koshi gorge, landscape, and deep valley. The scenic beauty, deep gorge, and farming terraces at the backdrop are phenomenal. Overnight stay at Phakding.
Day 4: Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,441m)
Today we will head towards the major Sherpa settlement, Namche Bazaar, also known as the gateway to Mt. Everest. This village has modern facilities, including luxurious hotels, restaurants, bakery cafes, etc. We will pass through several beautiful settlements, including Monjo, Benkar, Jorsole, and Chimoa, and enter the Sagarmatha National Park permit checkpoint. Overnight stay at Namche Bazaar.
Day 5: Namche Bazaar / Acclimatization (3,441m)
Today we will spend the day resting or hiking uphill to the villages of Khunde and Khumjung. You will find government offices, internet cafes, shops, and a colorful market. You can visit a monastery and Hillary School, and also visit the Everest National Park to catch some of the best glimpses of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Kongde, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, etc. Namche Bazaar is the largest settlement of Sherpa people, and you can learn more about them by visiting the Sherpa Monastery, which also holds historical records of Mt. Everest. Overnight stay at Namche Bazaar.
Day 6: Namche Bazaar to Tengboche Monastery (3,860m)
We will climb alongside the Dudh Koshi River until Phuke Tenga and then follow the trails of Ijma Khola up to Tengboche. On this trek, you will pass through pine forests and cross many suspension bridges, with spectacular views of Mt. Everest and Ama Dablam along the way. Upon reaching Tengboche, you can visit the Tengboche Monastery. Overnight stay at Tengboche.
Day 7: Tengboche to Dingboche (4,400m)
As we trek, the mountain range gets closer and closer. This journey offers tremendous views of Mt. Everest, Ama Dablam, and Lhotse. The trek moves ahead towards the Lobuche River, Imja Valley, and eventually begins climbing up to Dingboche. You will find barley, crop, stone walls, and potato farms that protect crops from strong winds. You can also see the spectacular sunrise and sunset over these mountains. Overnight stay at Dingboche.
Day 8: Dingboche Acclimatization (4,400m)
Today is a day for acclimatization, with a day trip to Chhukung. Dingboche is a famous stop for trekkers and climbers headed to Mt. Everest, Imja Tse, or Ama Dablam. You can explore Sherpa culture and lifestyle, visit Dingboche Monastery, or take a short hike to Nagarjuna Hill, Ama Dablam Base Camp, or Chhukung-RI. Overnight stay at Dingboche.
Day 9: Dingboche to Lobuche (4,900m)
We will walk along the highland and plain terrace to reach Lobuche. You will see memorial cairns built in memory of departed Sherpas and other trekkers. Enjoy the mesmerizing view of Mt. Pumori, Khumbutse, and Lingtren. You can also enjoy the view of Lobuche Peak and other peaks along the way. Overnight stay at Lobuche.
Day 10: Lobuche to Gorakshep and Hike to Everest Base Camp (5,363m)
We will head towards the settlement of Gorakshep. On this trek, you will have a great view of Mt. Everest, Mt. Pumori, and Mt. Nuptse. After some hours of walking, we will reach the base camp of the world’s highest peak, Everest Base Camp, where you can enjoy the magnificent view of Khumbu Glacier. Overnight stay at Gorakshep.
Day 11: Gorakshep to Zongla (4,840m) via Kalapathar (5,545m)
We will wake before dawn today to trek towards Kalapathar ("black rock") for a fiery, glorious sunrise over Mt. Everest. The day's first light will illuminate your spectacular view of Nuptse Nup, Changtse, and Lhotse. This may be your most opportune moment to snap amazing pictures of Everest and its neighboring peaks. Afterwards, we will return to Gorakshep for breakfast and continue onwards to Dzongla. Overnight stay at Dzongla.
Day 12: Zongla (4,840m) to Thaknak (4,358m) via Chola Pass (5,364m)
This could be the most challenging day of the trek as you cross the pass. Fortunately, having already visited Everest Base Camp, you should be accustomed to trekking at high altitude and feeling stronger. If the weather is bad, crossing the pass can be difficult. Microspikes can be helpful if the weather is not favorable. It’s a tough climb to the top, but the amazing views make it all worthwhile. Overnight stay at Thaknak.
Day 13: Thaknak to Gokyo (4,750m)
We continue down into the Gokyo Valley and cross the Ngozumpa Glacier, the longest glacier in this part of the Himalayas and an impressive sight. We should reach Gokyo by lunch. After lunch, you should have time to walk up to one of the lakes in the valley and get some great views of the surrounding peaks. Overnight stay at Gokyo.
Day 14: Gokyo to Machermo via Gokyo Ri (5,357m)
We will trek from Machermo, perched at an elevation of 4,470 meters, to the vibrant Namche Bazaar at 3,860 meters, taking the scenic route via Gokyo Ri. Traverse the undulating trails with breathtaking views, ascending to the summit of Gokyo Ri for a panoramic spectacle of the surrounding majestic peaks. Descend through the pristine landscapes, passing azure Gokyo Lakes and charming Sherpa settlements. Cross suspension bridges and relish the blend of adventure and natural beauty. Upon reaching Namche Bazaar, immerse yourself in the lively ambiance of this bustling mountain town. Explore local markets, interact with the welcoming Sherpa community, and bask in the unique charm that defines the Khumbu region. Overnight stay at Machermo.
Day 15: Machermo to Namche Bazaar (3,860m)
We will descend from Machermo (4,470m) to Namche Bazaar (3,860m) through picturesque trails, passing Sherpa villages and suspension bridges. Enjoy stunning mountain views on your way to the lively town of Namche. Overnight stay at Namche Bazaar.
Day 16: Namche Bazaar to Lukla (3,441m)
We will descend from Namche Bazaar (3,860m) to Lukla (3,441m), winding through the scenic Khumbu region. Traverse charming villages and lush landscapes, capturing the essence of the Himalayas before reaching Lukla. Overnight stay at Lukla.
Day 17: Fly back from Lukla to Kathmandu
Today we will fly back with a 40-minute amazing scenic flight to Kathmandu. There will be a farewell dinner (Nepali Food) to celebrate the successful completion of our journey. Overnight stay in Kathmandu.
Day 18: Final Departures
Your wonderful adventure in Nepal comes to an end today. We wish you all the best. A representative from Aarohi Holiday Pvt Ltd will take you to the airport approximately 3 hours before your scheduled flight.
